Health and Safety for Employees

The Health & Safety at Work Order (NI) 1978

CES issue Personnel Protection Equipment (PPE) to all production employees The CES Quarry Products Ltd accepts, under the provision of the Health & Safety at work legislation responsibility for the safety and health of its employees at work and of persons liable to be affected by its operations. It further accepts its responsibility to minimise impact on the ‘environment’ by reducing emissions to the atmosphere, controlling waste and by efficient use of energy. In doing so the company expects employees to work safely and efficiently and to participate in its efforts to provide safe and healthy working conditions and practices.

  • Be aware of your surroundings and always put the safety of yourself and others first.
  • Do not wander into dangerous areas unnecessarily.
  • If unsure about a work procedure or think that it may be dangerous to yourself or others, report it immediately before taking any further action.
  • CES are in the continual process of a H&S improvement plan, so please take advice from managers and read any issued H&S documents.
  • If unsure of the advice issued, always seek out an explanation.
  • The Health & Safety Law Poster located in the shippers office of every yard, details all the relevant H&S contacts you may require\need to contact.
  • If you are not familiar with this please make a point to go and read the poster.
  • Each yard has at least one fully trained first aider.
  • If you are unsure of the whereabouts of the first aid station or unsure of who is your first aider, please seek advice from your manager.
